This is a recipe I found in Taste of Home's 2001 Quick Cooking Annual Recipes. It was submitted by Kathy Gallagher. It's a simple, delicious recipe that is so wonderful to have cooking away in the crockpot when you get home from a busy day. I like to serve this with either hot cooked white rice and steamed broccoli, or egg noodles and corn, or green beans.
Chicken in Mushroom Sauce
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
Place chicken in a slow cooker. Combine soup and sour cream; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or until chicken is tender. Sprinkle with bacon.
Yield: 4 large servings, or 8 small servings.
